People bar hop and crawl, but people also crawl and hop food places, beverage places and more.
- Santa Barbara Downtown: Did you know Southern California extends all the way up to San Luis Obispo County? That means Santa Barbara made it to the list. For its ambience, quality and notoriety, this spot deserves recognition. In the Chronicles of Narnia, Edmund’s turkish delight is sourced from Lokum, local Turkish Delight & Coffee place.
- Anaheim Packing District: Draft beer, a modern variety of food and novelty drinks, this place is practically a mall for food and drink.
- Haven City: This place is filled with crawl opportunities. With a mixture of small, medium and chain status food and drink places, plus a bar and large outdoor space, this mini city became an instant favorite in the Inland Empire.
- Riverside Food Lab: A Riverside favorite due to its perfect location in the city, great culture and spectrum of flavors. From desserts to first-rate coffee to a village of restaurants, there’s a reason Riverside Food Lab is never empty.
- Old Town Pasadena: Pasadena is home to Southern California cinema and celebrity history, illustrious homes, the Rose Bowl and Old Town. In Pasadena, you’re as close as you can get to LA without being in it. Old Town is so beloved because of its art, class, industry, fashion, prestige, diversity and things to do within walking distance.
- Downtown Burbank: Occasionally, you may hear about the city of Burbank. It’s contributed heavily to California in terms of pop culture origins and other culture. Downtown there are about 600 small, medium and large brands to browse, crawl and hop. If you’re lucky, you might catch sight and sound of a musician in the wild there.
The benefits of crawling and hopping as opposed to just staying in one place, you might ask?
- Try a wider variety of experiences

- Be more active
- Driving usually not required between each place (if you do it right)
- Meet more people
- Share more economic love
- More selfies, perhaps
The Pike Outlets:
Honorable Mention
The Pike Outlets deserves recognition for being a South Bay local classic. Typically you would start your day with breakfast or brunch somewhere at the hundreds of restaurants in Long Beach, then make your way to the Aquarium of the Pacific, and then some time crawling the Pike. All of which could be accomplished with a nice long walk.
There are obviously so many other great places that haven’t been mentioned yet, so keep an eye out in the future for more, and if you know of some hidden gems, please do share.
